We occasionally get asked by friends and readers, “what can I do to help make WinCity Voices a success?” We’ve been pleased and humbled by the many folks who read and support our project. If you’d like to help, read on.
We want to grow our readership because we are striving to create an electronic medium that speaks of and for Winchester, Clark County, and the region. To do that, we need to reach a critical mass of readers. We don’t hide any of our content behind a paywall, nor do we sell ads that litter up many similar sites. Therefore, we rely on you — our readers — to help increase awareness of our digital publication and help fund our operations through voluntary financial contributions.
Below are some easy ways you can help us achieve our mission.
- Follow us on Facebook.
- Like, share, and comment on our content on your social media platforms. This is very important. The more people interact with our content, the higher it moves in the algorithms that determine how far our reach is. More interaction = more people seeing our content.
- Subscribe to The Weekly Voice to get a weekly reminder of new articles — and forward the newsletter to friends who might be interested in our site.
- Review us on Facebook to show the world what you think of WinCity Voices.
- Tell your friends about us! There’s nothing like word-of-mouth advertising. Just ask them to visit wincityvoices.org and check us out.
- Want to contribute material? If you have a gift for writing, art, or photography, why not consider becoming a content creator for WinCity Voices? We rely on volunteers to supply us with fresh, original content that is of interest to folks in our coverage area or to any general audience. To learn more, check out this page: Information and guidelines for contributors to WinCity Voices.
- Tell us how we’re doing. We value your feedback! Please let us know if we’re hitting the mark. Offer your comments and suggestions – tell us how we can better serve you. Use our contact form to offer your opinion.
Financial support
We happily accept voluntary financial support from individuals and organizations who would like to see us thrive. Since we have no paid staff or offices to maintain, our financial needs are modest. But we do have to cover website hosting fees and related expenses, promotional expenses, supplies, fees, and other operating expenses.
We are in the midst of our fundraising drive for 2024. Since our Voices of Winchester event is now officially an annual event, our advisory board has decided to include the cost of producing the program in the budget for WinCity Voices. In that way, we hope to wrap up our fundraising drive well in advance of the event, so we know how much money we have to work with.
The board has set our goal for this year at $5,000. All donations of any amount are appreciated. Once we reach our goal, we will cease soliciting donations for the year.
To date, we have raised $1,735 towards our $5,000 target. That’s 35% of the total.
If you’d like to send us a check for any amount, this is the most efficient way, as it helps us avoid processing fees. Please make your check out to WinCity Media and mail it to:

No matter how you choose to support us, from simply visiting our site to helping us out financially, you are very much valued and appreciated!
Important note: We do operate this enterprise as a non-profit — none of us receive any remuneration for our work, and all revenue gets spent on operating and promoting the site.
