The Voices of Winchester podcast is the show that brings your stories, our stories, and all the voices of Winchester right to your ears.

In this episode, Pete Koutoulas and Rebecca Ison have a wide-ranging conversation about humanism, what it means to live without religious belief, and how humanists try to build a better community through action. They also walk through the Humanists of Winchester’s ten commitments, with practical discussion of topics including altruism, critical thinking, empathy, environmentalism, service, and more.

Pete and Rebecca each share their own path into humanism, including doubts about religion, the role of evidence, and the importance of questioning inherited beliefs. The conversation is both personal and civic-minded, with a strong focus on how values show up in everyday life.

Rebecca Ison is a Winchester resident, a teacher, nurse, nursing instructor, and president of Humanists of Winchester.
