Tom Fogerty — Excalibur

I found this album when I was rummaging around in the bins many years ago. Tom Fogerty is John Fogerty’s brother and was an original member of Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Excalibur is his second solo effort, released in 1972, and features Jerry Garcia, Merl Saunders, John Kahn, and Bill Vitt. What a fantastic bunch of studio musicians, a.k.a. The Jerry Garcia Band. These guys were all San Francisco-area musicians and signed to Fantasy Records.

I have not been able to replace this vinyl album with a CD format disc, but thanks to YouTube, I can present the music here. It’s a quirky but nice set of songs. Enjoy.
