There are some stories that only reveal themselves after dark.

On the eve of Halloween (Friday, Oct. 30), something curious is happening downtown. From 6 p.m. to midnight, the stretch between Court Street and Lexington Avenue will become the setting for Nightfall on South Main — an evening of strange tales, curious company, and peculiar happenings.

Presented by Kettle & Quill, The Crystal Coven, and All Voices Reading Room, Nightfall will bring together local businesses, storytellers, makers, and unexpected guests for an autumn evening unlike any other.

What exactly awaits you after dark?

You’ll have to check out the event page on Facebook for answers, as organizers continue revealing details in the days leading up to the enchanted night. But the organizers tell WinCity Voices that Friday night’s spooky festivities are for the adults.

The folks at The Crystal Coven are conjuring up an experience all their own: Enchanted After Dark. Step inside the Cottage for an evening of tarot readings, witchy portraits, delicious treats from 2 Dudes Baking LLC, creative activities, and a few surprises they’ve yet to reveal.

On Saturday Oct. 31, Halloween Mainia takes place on Main Street from 6 to 8 p.m., welcoming kids of all ages for treats and fun.

The weather outlook is great, and Main Street looks gorgeous at night, so make plans to attend these spooktacular events.
