Volunteering with a Side of Chili

In February, we had a decent turnout for our Chili Fellowship for Great Backyard Bird Count as well as the Community Work Dance Party — includ­ing an inquis­i­tive Northern Mocking Bird (Mimus poly­glot­tos)! We worked on take-and-make kits to start peren­ni­al plants from seed. Distribution of kits will hap­pen inter­mit­tent­ly through­out the month. The Legacy Giving Commemorative Bench Program allows our sup­port­ers to hon­or the life of a friend or fam­i­ly mem­ber and pro­vide an attrac­tive and use­ful ameni­ty to the park and its green spaces. Sponsor a bench and com­mem­o­rate it with a plaque.

The place­ment of memo­r­i­al bench­es is lim­it­ed at Legacy Grove. Only two more bench­es are avail­able! Bench dona­tion cost is $3,000.

Do you create sustainable fashion? Your looks can walk our runway!

Last year, we host­ed our first Sustainable Fashion Show and had five design­ers show­case over 20 designs dur­ing our Earth Day Celebration. The beau­ti­ful cloth­ing was cre­at­ed using sus­tain­able prac­tices such as upcy­cling, thrift­ing, and repur­pos­ing. The result was an incred­i­ble show that inspired!
