Jeff’s Playlist: Time Out of Mind

This is the third of my “most impor­tant Dylan albums to me.” Released 25 years ago today, I poo-pooed it at the time because some of Dylan’s recent releas­es seemed kind of ques­tion­able. Adra point­ed out that it had been nom­i­nat­ed for Grammys, includ­ing Album of the Year.

From Wikipedia: “Time Out of Mind is hailed as one of Dylan’s best albums, and it went on to win three Grammy Awards, includ­ing Album of the Year in 1998. It is also ranked num­ber 410 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2012.”

I then felt I need­ed to try it out and have tru­ly loved it ever since. If you’ve nev­er heard it, give it a try. If you have heard it, give it anoth­er lis­ten… it gets bet­ter each time it’s played.
