Eve’s Uniques, nestled off Main Street on Lexington Ave in downtown Winchester, is a delightful antique store founded by Jennifer Wilson, who moved to the area during the pandemic. Jennifer was drawn to the building, envisioning it as the perfect post-retirement venture where she could combine her passion for antiques with a beautiful workspace.
“I saw this building during COVID and fell in love with it. I wanted to open an antique store. This building gave me the opportunity to have a beautiful home, a beautiful workspace.”
The store’s name pays homage to Jennifer’s great-grandmother, Eve, who previously owned a shop at the Edgewater Beach Hotel in Chicago. Inspired by her family’s history, Jennifer revived the name and used the same logo her great-grandmother created that reflects her great-grandmother’s original vision, updated with her own focus on unique décor.
“My aunt found the original markup for Eve’s. She found the invitation for her opening in 1952; it didn’t have a zip code—there were no zip codes then. I was like, ‘It’s got to be called Eve’s.’ The logo (that she designed) has a ribbon on it. She had written her specialties in the logo, so I updated it with my points of focus.”
Eve’s Uniques features an array of vintage furniture, antiques, and décor items, including delightful aromatherapy soaps. Jennifer specializes in repurposing furniture, using high-quality products like Fusion Mineral paint for refinishing and painting projects. She also offers Amy Howard at Home finishing products and products from A Makers Studio, allowing customers to achieve stunning faux antique finishes.

“I am starting classes. I’ve got some folks coming Tuesday night to do a class. I love teaching, if folks want to come and check it out. Tuesday nights will be an open studio concept where you can come and learn a little something and just play.”
