Clear blue skies and mild temÂperÂaÂtures in the 70s made the 46th annuÂal Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival picÂture perÂfect. The more than 150 venÂdors who lined Main Street and side streets from Washington Street to Boone Avenue Aug. 30 and 31 includÂed those sellÂing arts and crafts and food trucks.
The fesÂtiÂval began on Friday night with a Rock the Block conÂcert by Conch Republic, a Jimmy Buffett covÂer band that also perÂformed othÂer rock clasÂsics. Throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday, perÂformÂers offered live music on West Broadway.
Pre-fesÂtiÂval activÂiÂties on Saturday mornÂing includÂed the George Rogers Clark High School cross counÂtry team’s 5K honÂorÂing David Borden and the GRC cheerÂleadÂers’ Walk with Friends.
Shuttles to downÂtown made it easÂiÂer for visÂiÂtors to find easy parking.
The Labor Day weekÂend fesÂtiÂval, which began near the courÂtÂhouse in 1978 before movÂing to College Park, returned to downÂtown sevÂerÂal years ago and has since grown.
