Sometimes the photography gods smile upon you.
I was finishing up an exhibition install at the Kokol Gallery at Toe River Arts in Spruce Pine, NC, when exhibitions director Kathryn Andree excused herself from our labors to meet an artist who had stopped by to pick up a piece of work from a previous show. I joined her because I wanted to meet George Bennett, the man who had carved the winged angel.
As they walked down the hall together, I pulled out my iPhone and snapped this shot of their levity.
One moment, one frame. Had we planned the shot, no amount of preparation or effort could have surpassed the results.
