
Fairy tale creatures have invaded Leeds Center for the Arts! The story of “Shrek: the Musical” is filled with magic, whimsy, and humor. From June 12 to 28, 2026, audiences are invited to join Leeds for a song-filled take on the classic movie that’s warmed the hearts of many.
Co-directed and choreographed by Ellie Miller and co-directed and music directed by Steve Crosby, “Shrek: the Musical” follows the tale of Shrek, the ogre, as he adventures with his companion, Donkey, discovering love and acceptance along the way. A talented cast of actors of all ages breathes life into this vivid production.
“‘Shrek: the Musical’ is going to have audiences laughing their heads off and feeling uplifted at the same time,” said Ellie Miller, co-director and choreographer. “This show has a unique blend of characters and humor that tugs at the heartstrings.”
With a book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, the show features hit songs such as “Freak Flag,” “I Know It’s Today,” and “Story of My Life.” Tap dancing, beautiful costumes, and a larger-than-life puppet ensure that there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
“This is one of the most talented casts I’ve ever worked with,” added Steve Crosby, co-director and music director. “Everyone is putting 110% into bringing this show to life and making it their own, and it shows through their energy onstage.”
Performances will take place on June 12–14, 19–21, and 26–28, 2026, at the Leeds Center for the Arts, located at 37 N Main St, Winchester, KY.
