After dedicating 14 years to operations and event planning, Amanda Omohundro-Adams took a leap of faith during the pandemic to pursue her entrepreneurial dreams. With savings and strong determination, she invested in her first embroidery machine and founded Hamilton Brooks Design. What started as a home-based business operating out of a spare bedroom quickly grew into a thriving enterprise.

In 2023, Hamilton Brooks Design moved into its current location on Main Street. Amanda, who grew up in Winchester, shared her vision: “I wanted to help build up downtown. When I was young, this was the place to come!”

Why the name Hamilton Brooks? Amanda says it has deep meaning for her family. They took the name Hamilton from a favorite pet, and Brooks is the middle name of their son.

Hamilton Brooks Design specializes in business embroidery, offering ready-made gifts, last-minute items, and personalized products. The business is also well-known for its adorable children’s and women’s clothing options.

Amanda keeps VIP members updated with the latest inventory through their Facebook page. Whether for game day, baby gifts, or corporate branding, Hamilton Brooks provides flexible services without minimum order requirements. Amanda emphasizes quality and supporting local companies, ensuring her embroidery services can meet both individual and large-scale needs.

“We try to partner with other downtown businesses through sponsorships and donations,” she explains. “We coördinate to avoid overlap and also do the merchandise for many downtown businesses. I’m grateful for their support.”

When asked about the ongoing construction on Main Street, Amanda underscores the importance of supporting local businesses, even if it requires walking a few extra steps. She mentions that parking options are available, including a lot next to Beach Springs Table and another off Main Street near the Fly Witches parking lot.

Amanda is optimistic about the town’s future: “I always try to see the best in everything. Having substantial completion by November 1st will be great. It will give our businesses a chance to recoup losses from the construction, and hopefully, it will reignite excitement for downtown shopping. We want our town to be the place to come for the holidays!
