WinCity Media, Inc., the nonprofit parent organization of WinCity Voices, has added two new members to its Board of Directors. Lashana Harney and Rebecca Campomanes officially assumed their new roles at the board’s January 8 meeting.
Lashana (luh-SHAY-nuh) Harney is a former journalist-turned-marketer with a deep passion for storytelling in all its forms. She brings stories to life through writing, photography, videography, design, podcasting, and beyond.
Self-described as “Kentucky-fried,” Lashana has spent her entire life in the Bluegrass State and has called Winchester home for nearly eight years. She attended Western Kentucky University, where she studied public relations and Chinese, before building a career that spans print journalism, higher education, and edtech. She now works on the marketing and communications team at Shriners Children’s Lexington, helping share stories of hope and healing.
Outside of work, Lashana can usually be found watching MMA fights, soccer matches, and the latest movie with her fiancé; training in powerlifting and endurance running; playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends; or curled up on the couch with a good book and her two dogs, Vader and Vandal.
“I’ve seen firsthand the impact and growth WinCity Voices and WinCity Media have made over the past nearly five years,” Lashana told WinCity Voices. “And it’s been incredible to watch a truly community-first organization take shape. Joining the board feels like a natural next step, and I’m excited to help make WinCity even stronger, more sustainable, and more impactful in the years ahead.”
Rebecca Campomanes is a graphic designer and community advocate with over ten years of experience supporting local organizations. As Wink Design, her freelance business, she creates logos, newsletters, and marketing materials for local businesses, nonprofits, and individuals.
As a volunteer, she has worked with multiple organizations to activate community, often focusing on the arts or the environment. Her leadership has resulted in tangible positive change in Winchester, including spearheading brand activation for downtown Winchester and creating a community garden at Legacy Grove.
Campomanes currently serves on the advisory board of WinCity Voices and is also a contributor.
“WinCity Media bridges the gap between in-person and online connection, an issue I’ve heard brought up since I’ve moved to Winchester,” said Campomanes. “I’m excited to bring my insight and skills to the board so we can strengthen that connective tissue and help folks feel they are a part of this community.”

Pete Koutoulas, Executive Director of WinCity Media, explained that the current board needed more voices and more diversity. Before the addition of Harney and Campomanes, the board consisted of three members, including Chuck Witt and Jennifer Koutoulas.
Pete Koutoulas noted, “This has been a necessary expansion, due to our incredible growth over the past year. We needed to bring more experience and diversity to the boardroom, and we are thrilled to be adding Rebecca and Lashana. Between Rebecca’s commitment to the community and her creative problem-solving skills, she brings a lot to the table. And Lashana, being an award-winning trained journalist who used to write for The Winchester Sun, adds experience, credibility, and a wealth of knowledge to the table.”
The board expansion is not over. The board seeks to add two members in 2026 to further broaden its skills and diversity.
“The goal is to include more voices and differing points of view into the decision-making process,” Koutoulas said. “It is very important to us that the community sees that we don’t just preach diversity and inclusion, we practice it as well.”
The next two additions to the WinCity Media Board of Directors will be selected from a pool of applicants for those positions. More information about the application process will be announced soon.
