William Tyler — Modern Country

Man, I like this record. I think where I first heard William Tyler was at a free con­cert he played in down­town Lexington at Phoenix Park. I bought two or three of his CDs on the spot, and I’m glad I did because I’ve enjoyed all of them ever since. I com­pare Tyler’s style to Bill Frizzell’s: very smooth and melodic.

Adra and I were watch­ing the bonus fea­tures of the Netflix movie First Cow the oth­er day, and the writer/director was talk­ing about hir­ing “Tyler” to write the score. Needless to say, that gave me that “it’s a small world” feeling.
