Morphine — cure for pain
This is a wonderful album with some heart-wrenching lyrics and great melodies. I was first introduced to this band by an independent record store owner in Richmond. I can’t tell you how lucky I felt to know this guy. His store was a great source of music for me — and sometimes at a discount!
I have accumulated several Morphine albums over the years, but this one has stuck with me. Unfortunately, bass player and lead vocalist Mark Sandman died at age 47 of a heart attack onstage in Palestrina, Italy, on July 3, 1999. The band was never the same after that.
Recently I’ve heard cuts off this album on WUKY 91.3 on their Rock & Roots show. Give it a spin, I think you’ll like it.
