Bluegrass Newsmedia, the parent company of the Winchester Sun, and WinCity Media, publisher of WinCity Voices, announced a new content-sharing partnership on Thursday.

Bluegrass and WinCity, an online publication founded in 2021, will cross-publish written and photographic content and hope to explore possible joint community engagement events in the future.

“WinCity Voices has a dedicated and talented group of contributors who bring unique voices to issues ranging from current affairs to health. Bluegrass Newsmedia is grateful and excited for our readers to sample their work,” said Bluegrass Newsmedia Executive Editor Warren Taylor.

“We are excited about this arrangement, which will benefit both of our organizations,” said Pete Koutoulas, WinCity Media Co-Founder and Publisher. “But the real benefactors are the people of Clark County and the region. This agreement strengthens both organizations, ensuring that local news and viewpoints will continue to thrive.”

Koutoulas continued, “We hope this agreement will not only expose Clark Countians to more of what local creators have to offer but also strengthen our local newspaper. It’s a win-win for all of us.”

Bluegrass and WinCity staff believe that partnerships such as this are the future of local news.

“With staffing cuts hurting small-town newspapers like ours, it is essential that we look to develop partnerships with other local media outlets that share our passion for dedicated and quality local storytelling,” Taylor said.
