This painting, incorporating plaster, was a study in texture, perspective and color combinations.
Plaster was used to build up the central portion into a mountain-like segment and the black shadow was painted on to define the built-up segment and to suggest varying heights between the colored sections, although all three colors are on the same plane. The thickness of the shadow lines suggests that the blue segment lies above the gray segment and both lie above the earth-colored segment.
