The two current members of the Clark County Board of Education who are up for re-election this year drew no challengers by the June 2 filing deadline.

Carl David Kiser, vice chair of the board, who represents District 1, and Ben Dorsey, who represents District 4, will be unopposed unless write-in candidates file to run against them by August 11.

The seats on the nonpartisan, five-member board are staggered so that all the candidates don’t run in the same election year. The general election is November 3.

The board has general control and management of the public schools in the district.

Three members of the Clark County Soil and Water Conservation District are also unopposed on the ballot for the fall election. They are Greg McCord, the treasurer; Joyce Pasley; and Harold David Rupard.

The conservation district is a special-purpose government entity, a subdivision of the state, that provides assistance to landowners in conserving and enhancing soil and waterways.

The board supervisor positions are nonpartisan.
