We have a lot of pipevine growÂing around our place, and right now we have a lot of pipevine swalÂlowÂtails. There are often up to four at a time hapÂpiÂly feedÂing on a small plantÂiÂng of zinÂnias and tall verÂbeÂna near the house. Their wings are conÂstantÂly movÂing, and they hardÂly ever stay at the same flower more than a few secÂonds. Their ranÂdom flight moveÂment as they flitÂter from flower to flower someÂtimes causÂes them to have to take evaÂsive action as they nearÂly colÂlide with each othÂer mid-air.
