Jeff’s Playlist: The Road to Escondido

This is a spe­cial record for Clapton and Cale fans. Over the years, Clapton has record­ed many Cale-penned songs includ­ing After Midnight and Cocaine. This album makes it easy for us to hear these guys together.

Unfortunately, Cale died in 2013 — about sev­en years after this was record­ed — and Cale and Clapton did not make anoth­er dual album.

This album has a huge cast of char­ac­ters, includ­ing Derek Trucks and John Mayer on gui­tars. Give it a lis­ten; I know you’ll like it.
