Leeds Center for the Arts presents the new musical The Addams Family, August 12–14, 19–21, and 26–28, 2022. Directed by Laurie Preston, music directed by Steve Crosby, choreographed by Ellie Miller, and featuring a cast of twenty-six actors from all over Central Kentucky, The Addams Family features show-stopping song and dance, hilarious mishaps, and everyone’s favorite spooky, kooky, and all-together ooky family with lots of heart.
This original story features Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, who has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family– a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

“We are thrilled to be producing Addams Family, our first summer musical in almost three years!” says Tracey Miller, the show’s producer and Board President at Leeds. “Putting on a large-scale show like this is no easy feat!
“I had forgotten what a joy and a challenge it is to produce a show of such magnitude, but happy to say that our creative team is the best. And I can’t begin to thank all of our
outside volunteers that help to make our shows come to life. We are grateful for the people who build our set, make the weird props, create costumes, style wigs, and glue all the
creepy things on Grandma’s potions cart so that it looks believable. I also have to give a huge shout-out to our stage managers, sound and light engineers, director,
choreographer, and music director, who have worked together to create such a beautiful show.
“And finally, the cast! These wonderful and talented people from four different
counties have dedicated themselves to creating a jaw-dropping show that is funny, quirky, and a show that you do not want to miss!”
The Addams Family reminds us that the love we share for our family, our children, and each other is universal... even if it is a little creepy, kooky, and all-together ooky.
