WinCity Voices seeks summer intern

WinCity Media is now accept­ing appli­ca­tions for a sum­mer intern to cre­ate con­tent for WinCity Voices. This is a paid posi­tion, thanks to a part­ner­ship with Press Forward Bluegrass (PFBG). The suc­cess­ful appli­cant will be employed by PFBG and paid a stipend of up to $4,000, work­ing up to 28 hours per week for up to 12 weeks. 

To be eli­gi­ble, the appli­cant must either be a res­i­dent of one of Kentucky’s 54 Appalachian coun­ties or have grad­u­at­ed from a high school in one of those coun­ties. Preference will be giv­en to appli­cants resid­ing in or near Clark County and who have had some col­lege and/or high school expe­ri­ence or train­ing in journalism. 

Duties may include:

  • Reporting, writ­ing, edit­ing, pho­tog­ra­phy, or mul­ti­me­dia production
  • Audience engage­ment, dig­i­tal con­tent cre­ation, or social media work
  • Supporting com­mu­ni­ty sto­ry­telling and civic journalism
  • Assisting with news­room oper­a­tions or pub­lic-fac­ing communications
