If you missed “The Voices of Winchester: A Night of Storytelling,” you missed a great time! But we had the event professionally videoed by Jeff Mohr of Something Mohr Media, and we’re releasing the videos on our new YouTube channel!

Each day for the next eight days, we’ll release a new story.

Today we feature Ron Kibbey, who’s known to our readers as the author of Reel Classics. Ron is well-known around Winchester — besides being an aficionado of classic movies, he’s a community activist, and one of nicest guys you’ll ever meet.

Ron’s talk is titled, “A West Coast Adventure.”

Ron grew up in Southeast Baltimore, spent three and a half years living in the High Desert in California, and came to Winchester when his VW Beetle broke down here on a cross-country drive to Vermont. He has lived here and worked as a social worker since 1973. Though he retired in 2013, he remains active as a community volunteer on various boards, coalitions, and committees. His passions include the woods and nature, music, books, and classic movies (especially Laurel & Hardy).
