WinCity Media is now acceptÂing appliÂcaÂtions for a sumÂmer intern to creÂate conÂtent for WinCity Voices. This is a paid posiÂtion, thanks to a partÂnerÂship with Press Forward Bluegrass (PFBG). The sucÂcessÂful appliÂcant will be employed by PFBG and paid a stipend of up to $4,000, workÂing up to 28 hours per week for up to 12 weeks.
To be eliÂgiÂble, the appliÂcant must either be a resÂiÂdent of one of Kentucky’s 54 Appalachian counÂties or have gradÂuÂatÂed from a high school in one of those counÂties. Preference will be givÂen to appliÂcants residÂing in or near Clark County and who have had some colÂlege and/or high school expeÂriÂence or trainÂing in journalism.
Duties may include:
- Reporting, writÂing, editÂing, phoÂtogÂraÂphy, or mulÂtiÂmeÂdia production
- Audience engageÂment, digÂiÂtal conÂtent creÂation, or social media work
- Supporting comÂmuÂniÂty stoÂryÂtelling and civic journalism
- Assisting with newsÂroom operÂaÂtions or pubÂlic-facÂing communications
