Early Fall Color at Grayson Lake State Park

It feels like fall has been teasing us … or maybe I’m just being too impatient as I look forward to a beautiful Kentucky fall. We have had a little leaf color change around home, but mostly it’s been the not very spectacular hues of brown and yellow of leaves shriveling up from lack of rain.

In need of a hike and wanting to check out the leaf color in a different part of the state, Peggy and I headed to Grayson Lake State Park. We hadn’t been there in a long time. Somewhat surprisingly, we had the loop trail all to ourselves. We did see some nice early fall color and part of the trail had views of the lake with its beautiful sandstone cliffs.
